Activities Help Your Baby Sleep

Sleep affects every aspect of your child’s well-being – from temper tantrums to learning the ABCs to growth. Everything.

It is estimated that up to 70% of children under age five will experience sleep problems at some point or another.  While promoting a consistent sleeping routine and ensuring your child has their snugly baby comforter close by are proven ways to encourage good sleeping habits, you should also make sure your child gets sufficient exercise during the day.

Too much inactivity, such as watching TV or being pushed in the pram for long periods of time, can prevent good sleep. Children who get ample, age-appropriate exercise are likely to fall sleep more quickly, stay asleep for longer and wake up feeling more refreshed.

But be warned – too much activity in the hour before bedtime can cause over-stimulation. The last thing you want is your little one jumping or bouncing on the bed instead of sleeping in it!
